SENATE BILL 322

AN ACT relative to access to a water utility.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Eighteen

AN ACT relative to access to a water utility.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Water Companies; Service to Customers. Amend RSA 362:4 by inserting after paragraph VII the following new paragraph:

VIII. No water utility, whether a municipal corporation or water utility regulated by the commission, shall decline or refuse to provide adequate service to a property owner that desires to connect to water service and to pay the incremental rates for service that apply to customers within the municipal boundaries or franchise territory of the water utility.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
