AN ACT relative to the counting of secret ballots.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen
AN ACT relative to the counting of secret ballots.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; Secret Ballot; Clear Intent. Amend RSA 40:4-a by inserting after paragraph I the following new paragraph:
I-a. In any vote conducted under paragraph I, every ballot shall be counted if the intent of the voter is clear, regardless of whether the voter followed instructions.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
