HOUSE BILL 161
AN ACT prohibiting the use of false or deceptive caller identification information.
ANALYSIS
This bill prohibits a person engaged in solicitation from preventing caller identification information from being received by the called party station. The bill also prohibits such person from using false or deceptive caller identification information.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen
AN ACT prohibiting the use of false or deceptive caller identification information.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Telemarketing; Caller Identification; Blocking and Misleading Information Prohibited. RSA 359-E:5-a is repealed and reenacted to read as follows:
359-E:5-a Caller Identification; Blocking and Misleading Information Prohibited. No person using an automated telephone dialing system or any other method for solicitation shall use any method, including per-call blocking or per-line blocking, to prevent caller identification information from being received by the called party station. The caller identification information shall contain a telephone number at which the telephone solicitor may receive telephone calls and shall not contain misleading, inaccurate, or deceptive information.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2020.
