AN ACT relative to the amendment of petitioned warrant articles.


ANALYSIS

This bill requires a quorum to be present at the deliberative session of the annual meeting in order to amend a petitioned warrant article in towns that have adopted the official ballot referenda form of meeting.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen

AN ACT relative to the amendment of petitioned warrant articles.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Subparagraph; Official Ballot Referenda; Amendment of Petitioned Warrant Articles. Amend RSA 40:13, IV by inserting after subparagraph (c) the following new subparagraph:

(d) A quorum must be present to amend a petitioned warrant article. For purposes of this paragraph, a quorum means 50 percent or more of the number of voters who cast ballots during the second session of the previous annual meeting.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
