AN ACT relative to public college and university policies for qualified service year alumni.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty
AN ACT relative to public college and university policies for qualified service year alumni.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Paragraph; University System of New Hampshire; Authority of the Board of Trustees. Amend RSA 187-A:16 by inserting after paragraph XXIV the following new paragraph:
XXV. There shall be no application fee for a current member or alumnus of a national civilian service organization. The criteria shall include an opportunity in the admission process for such persons to identify themselves as a current member or alumnus of a service year program. Upon acceptance to the college or university, admitted students shall be notified of service year opportunities in New Hampshire and allowed to defer their college admission for one year if they have also been admitted to a service year program.
2 New Paragraph; Community College System of New Hampshire; Authority of the Board of Trustees. Amend RSA 188-F:6 by inserting after paragraph XXII the following new paragraph:
XXIII. There shall be no application fee for a current member or alumnus of a national civilian service organization. The criteria shall include an opportunity in the admission process for such persons to identify themselves as a current member or alumnus of a service year program. Upon acceptance to the college or university, admitted students shall be notified of service year opportunities in New Hampshire and allowed to defer their college admission for one year if they have also been admitted to a service year program.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
