AN ACT relative to the definition of stepparent.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen

AN ACT relative to the definition of stepparent.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Parental Rights and Responsibilities; Definition of Stepparent Added. Amend RSA 461-A:1 by inserting after paragraph VII the following new paragraph:

VIII. Stepparent means a spouse who is married to a child's biological or legal parent, but is neither the biological nor legal parent of the child.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
