STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen
AN ACT appropriating money to remove lead from drinking water pipes in schools.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Findings. On August 30, 2018, the drinking water and groundwater advisory commission, established under RSA 485-F, approved a grant of $1,600,000 to the department of education for the purpose of removing lead from drinking water lines in schools. The commission funded the request in order to expedite the removal of lead from drinking water lines in schools but believed that the general fund was a more appropriate funding source. As such, the drinking water and groundwater advisory commission is requesting reimbursement for the grant from the general fund.
2 State Aid Grant Program; Appropriation to Department of Environmental Services. The sum of $1,600,000 for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2019, is hereby appropriated to the drinking water and groundwater trust fund established pursuant to RSA 6-D:1 for the purposes for which the fund was established. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
