STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty
AN ACT relative to the patient's bill of rights.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Health Facility Licensure; Patients' Bill of Rights. Amend RSA 151:21, XVI to read as follows:
XVI. The patient shall not be denied appropriate care on the basis of [race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, disability, marital status, or source of payment, nor shall any such care be denied on account of the patient's sexual orientation]age, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, race, color, marital status, familial status, disability, religion, national origin, source of income, source of payment, or profession.
2 Health Facility Licensure; Patients' Bill of Rights. Amend RSA 151:21, XVIII to read as follows:
XVIII. The patient shall be entitled to have the patient's parents, if a minor, or spouse, or next of kin, unmarried partner, or a personal representative chosen by the patient, if an adult, visit the facility, without restriction, if the patient is considered terminally ill by the physician responsible for the patient's care.
3 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2021.
