STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nineteen
AN ACT relative to the start of the school year.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 New Section; Start of School Year. Amend RSA 189 by inserting after section 1-e the following new section:
189:1-f Start of School Year. No school board shall permit a school to begin its school year prior to Labor Day. Any school that is required by a collective bargaining agreement entered into prior to the effective date of this section to begin its school year prior to Labor Day shall be exempt from this section for the duration of such agreement.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect January 1, 2021.
