STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty
AN ACT authorizing the department of education to accept and expend certain federal funds for the purpose of increasing, expanding, or replicating the number of charter schools in the state.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Department of Education; Acceptance of Funds. For the biennium ending June 30, 2021, the department of education may accept and expend funds in an amount up to $10,114,548 from the United States Department of Education's federal Expanding Opportunity Through Quality Charter Schools Program grants to state entities for the purposes of increasing, expanding, or replicating the number of charter schools in the state of New Hampshire. In order to administer the grant, the department is further authorized to utilize said funds to support existing positions and establish 2 temporary full-time positions.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.

METHODOLOGY:
This bill allows for the acceptance and expenditure of up to $10,114,548, by the Department of Education, of United States Department of Education federal Expanding the Opportunity Through Quality Charter School Program grants. This bill also allows these funds to support existing positions and establish two (2) new temporary full-time positions (assumed to be an administrator III, labor grade 27, and a program specialist III, labor grade 23). Estimates of how much will be expended, and in which fiscal year, are indeterminable at this time.
