STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty One

AN ACT requiring the Gorham town clerk to be appointed by the board of selectmen.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 Town Clerk; Exception for Town of Gorham. Amend RSA 41:16 to read as follows:

41:16 Election and Bond.

I. Except as provided in paragraph II, every town at the annual meeting shall choose, by ballot, a town clerk, who shall record all votes passed by the town while he or she remains in office, and discharge all the duties of the office according to law.

II. The Gorham town clerk shall be appointed by the town board of selectmen.

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
