STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two
AN ACT prohibiting the termination of a lease during the sale of real property.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Actions Against Tenants; Termination of Tenancy. Amend RSA 540:2, I to read as follows:
I. The lessor or owner of nonrestricted property may terminate any tenancy by giving to the tenant or occupant a notice in writing to quit the premises in accordance with RSA 540:3 and 5, provided, however, that the transfer of title to a nonrestricted property shall not be cause for terminating a tenancy for the duration of the current lease term.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
