HOUSE RESOLUTION No. 23 Supporting the New Hampshire Presidential Primary

WHEREAS, New Hampshire celebrated the 100th Anniversary of holding its First-in-the-Nation Primary in 2020; and

WHEREAS, New Hampshire enjoys a civically engaged citizenry who make candidates better prepared for high office through retail politics; and

WHEREAS, New Hampshire has a long and storied tradition of conducting well-run, free, and fair elections; and

WHEREAS, New Hampshire has withstood many challenges to its primary in the last century, but through statute, and the hard work of election officials and party officers, has kept the New Hampshire Primary the premier political event of the presidential race; now, be it therefore

RESOLVED, that the New Hampshire House of Representatives affirms its century old support of the First-in-the-Nation Presidential Primary and strong commitment to retaining the tradition that has withstood the test of time.
