STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two
AN ACT requiring the legislature to give preference to deceased military veterans and first responders in the naming of bridges.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Powers of the Governor and Council; Naming of Certain Buildings and Formations; Preference in Naming. Amend RSA 4:43, I to read as follows:
I. No state park, bridge, mountain, road, river, or body of water under the control of the state, shall be renamed without legislative approval. Insofar as practicable, when considering names for bridges, the legislature shall give preference to deceased military veterans, and emergency response/public safety workers as defined in RSA 281-A:2, V-c.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
