STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Two

AN ACT requiring the commissioner of the department of environmental services to adopt ambient groundwater quality standards for certain per and polyfluoroalkyl substances.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

1 New Paragraph; Ambient Groundwater Quality Standards; Per and Polyfluoroalkyl Chemicals. Amend RSA 485-C:6 by inserting after paragraph VI the following new paragraph:

VII. By January 1, 2023, the commissioner shall, in consultation with the commissioner of the department of health and human services and interested parties, initiate rulemaking to adopt ambient groundwater quality standards for perfluorobutanoic acid (PFBA), perfluoroheptanoic acid (PFHpA); and perfluorodecanoic acid (PFDA).

2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect upon its passage.
