HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 18
Honoring the victims of the October attack on Israel
WHEREAS, the New Hampshire House of Representatives learned with great sorrow of the attack against Israel on October 7, 2023 by the terrorist organization Hamas; and
WHEREAS, American citizens were among the over one thousand casualties of, or hostages taken during that attack; and
WHEREAS, a long term plan for peace was being negotiated by many states in the region that would avert situations like this attack and its future now remains in serious doubt; and
WHEREAS, because of this attack, further civilian casualties among Israelis and Palestinians have increased; and
WHEREAS, the New Hampshire House has a long-standing history of affirming its support for communities, states and nations throughout the world, especially in times of distress; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, that the New Hampshire House of Representatives honors the victims and hostages of the Hamas attack and offers its condolences to the loved ones and families of the victims; and be it further
RESOLVED, that the House of Representatives in regular session convened, stands against terrorism, supports humanitarian aid for those civilians caught amid conflict, and hopes for a lasting peace in the region.
