STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Three
A RESOLUTION urging Congress to enact legislation regulating and banning certain semi-automatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices.
Whereas, the safety and welfare of the people of New Hampshire is at extreme risk due to the absence of federal rules setting and providing for the enforcement of reasonable limits on the manufacture, sale, ownership and use in the United States of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices; and
Whereas, the extreme threat to the public safety posed by insufficient federal regulation of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feed devices extends beyond the boundaries and legal authority of any single state and, therefore, requires uniform nationwide laws and enforcement; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the House of Representatives:
That all members of Congress are hereby urgently requested to work together for the earliest possible enactment of legislation providing for federal regulation of semiautomatic assault weapons and large capacity ammunition feeding devices, including therein reasonable definitions, bans based on extreme risk of harm of certain defined semiautomatic assault weapons and feeding devices, appropriate legacy provisions and exceptions, and sufficient funding to enable timely and responsible nationwide implementation; and
That the house clerk forward official copies of this resolution to the President of the United States, the Speaker and the Minority Leader of the United States House of Representatives, the Majority Leader and the Minority Leader of the United States Senate, and to all members of the New Hampshire congressional delegation.
