AN ACT relative to the duties and responsibilities of superintendents of school administrative units.

STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE

In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four

AN ACT relative to the duties and responsibilities of superintendents of school administrative units.

Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:

76:1 New Section; School Administrative Units; Superintendents; Superintendent Services. Amend RSA 194-C by inserting after section 4 the following new section:

194-C:4-a Assignment of Superintendent Services; Personnel. When used in this title, the term "superintendent" shall include the superintendent and any personnel assigned by the superintendent to perform superintendent services under the authority in RSA 194-C:5.

76:2 Fire Safety Measures. Amend RSA 153:14, II(b) to read as follows:

(b) Each local fire chief shall annually inspect all school buildings within his or her jurisdiction while school is in session and submit a written report to the state fire marshal on the condition of all such school buildings. A copy of the report shall be furnished to the school district superintendent, or personnel assigned to perform superintendent services under RSA 194-C:5, II(a), and school board members. The report shall detail any state fire code compliance issues in each school building. The report shall be submitted no later than December 15 each year.

76:3 Record Content; Confidentiality; Rulemaking. Amend RSA 170-G:8-a, II(b)(3) to read as follows:

(3) The superintendent of schools for the school district, or personnel assigned to perform superintendent services under RSA 194-C:5, II(a), in which the child named in the case record is then, or will, according to the child's case plan, be attending school.

76:4 Effective Date. This act shall take effect 60 days after its passage.
