SB 259-FN- FISCAL NOTE
AS INTRODUCED
AN ACT relative to traffic and safety improvements on Route 101 Amherst, Bedford, and Milford.
FISCAL IMPACT: [ ] State [ ] County [ ] Local [ X ] None
METHODOLOGY:
This bill requires the Department of Transportation to include in the State’s Ten Year Transportation Improvement Plan (“TYP”), a plan to address gateway treatments, physical traffic calming, and psychological traffic calming on Route 101 from Amherst to the intersection of Route 101 and Route 101A in Milford. The Department states this project is already included in the TYP and has been built in a series of projects. The overall project is identified as “Wilton-Milford-Amherst-Bedford 13692”, and four individual construction projects have been identified. As part of the update of the 2023-2032 TYP, $7.0 million in additional construction funds were added to the project. It is anticipated that this additional funding will be identified as another individual construction project and funding is scheduled for FY 2026. The project is federally funded, with 80% Federal funded with 20% turnpike toll credits. The current project cost estimate is $2.85 million and no state or local funding is anticipated.
