STATE OF NEW HAMPSHIRE
In the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Twenty Four
AN ACT relative to making an appropriation for the hiring and training of small business development counselors in rural areas of New Hampshire.
Be it Enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General Court convened:
1 Appropriation; Department of Business and Economic Affairs; Small Business Development Counselors.
I. The sum of $250,000 is hereby appropriated for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, to the department of business and economic affairs to be applied to the hiring and training of small business development counselors for the small business development center in rural areas of New Hampshire.
II. The appropriation in paragraph I shall not lapse until June 30, 2026. The governor is authorized to draw a warrant for said sum out of any money in the treasury not otherwise appropriated.
2 Effective Date. This act shall take effect June 30, 2024.

METHODOLOGY:
This bill establishes a $250,000 general fund appropriation, nonlapsing until June 30,2026, for fiscal year ending June 30, 2024 to the Department of Business and Economic Affairs. The funds shall be allocated towards recruiting and training small business development counselors for the small business development center in rural areas of New Hampshire.
The Department of Business and Economic Affairs states once they receive the $250,000 appropriation, they will pass the funds onto the small business development centers resulting in an increase in general fund expenditures in FY 2025.
