METHODOLOGY:

This bill, assumed to be effective for the 2026-2027 school year (FY 2027) repeals the requirement for school nurses to obtain a license from the Department of Education. The license costs $120 for a 3 year period. The Department states there are currently approximately 450 license holders. Therefore, this bill would result in an approximate loss of $18,000 (150 licenses x $120) in restricted fee income to the Department for educator credentialing. It is unknown if this bill will have any impact on state or local school district expenditures.
