(B) For each payment made by credit card through any payment system, and for each payment made by debit card through an electronic filing system, a service charge shall be imposed on the person making the payment. When the payment system used for collection of the payment is a judicial branch credit card terminal, “service charge” refers to a credit card surcharge. When the payment system used for collection of the payment is an electronic filing system, “service charge” refers to the handling charge, payment service fee, or e-payment fee (however denominated in that electronic filing system). (C) The amount of the service charge may vary based on the specific payment system used for collection of the payment. The amount of the service charge shall not be refundable when payment is made through an electronic filing system.
