12-G:7 Duties. –

I.

The authority assumes from the commission and shall perform the following duties:

(a)

Monitoring the proposed closing of Pease Air Force Base.

(b)

Conducting a comprehensive study of all issues related to the closure, conversion, redevelopment, and future use of Pease Air Force Base. This study shall have as a primary concern the impact of the closure and redevelopment of Pease Air Force Base on the economies, environment, and quality of life of the affected communities, the seacoast region, and the state.

(c)

Reviewing all options relative to the most appropriate use of Pease Air Force Base.

(d)

Formulating and adopting a comprehensive plan for conversion and redevelopment of Pease Air Force Base and submitting this plan to the federal authorities no sooner than 30 days following submission to the appointing authorities.

(e)

Submitting the comprehensive plan for the conversion and redevelopment of Pease Air Force Base to the appropriate agency or agencies of the federal government.

II.

The authority shall at all times act in a manner which is consistent with the public good and pursuant to this chapter shall seek to implement the comprehensive plan for the conversion and redevelopment of Pease Air Force Base identified in paragraph I. Source. 2001, 290:6, eff. July 1, 2001.
