184:110 Dairy Premium Fund Board Established; Membership. –

I.

The dairy premium fund board is established and shall be comprised of the following members:

(a)

The commissioner of the department of agriculture, markets, and food.

(b)

The executive director of Granite State Dairy Promotion.

(c)

Two members from dairy cooperatives, appointed by the governor.

(d)

One member from the milk processing industry, appointed by the governor.

(e)

One member who shall be from a retail store that sells dairy premium milk, appointed by the governor.

(f)

Two members who are milk producers receiving a quarterly premium payment, appointed by the governor.

One member of the general public, appointed by the governor.

II.

The commissioner shall be the chair of the board and the executive director of Granite State Dairy Promotion the vice chair.

III.

The board shall meet at the call of the chair or at the request of no fewer than 5 members.

IV.

The board shall advise the commissioner regarding any changes to policies or rules regarding the dairy premium program prior to their adoption.

V.

Appointed members of the board shall serve 3-year staggered terms. Initial appointments made by the governor shall be staggered for terms of one, 2, or 3 years. A board member whose term of office is expiring may continue beyond the end of the term until reappointed or until a successor is nominated. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term.
