21-O:18 Duties of Coordinator. – The coordinator shall:

I.

Recommend to the commissioner methods to incorporate pollution prevention into all the department's programs, based upon recommendations from each of the department's relevant bureaus and divisions.

II.

Develop and lead implementation of a strategy to integrate pollution prevention within the department.

III.

Identify opportunities for all other state and local government entities as well as the regulated community and homeowners to practice pollution prevention, and assist these entities to implement pollution prevention.

IV.

Recommend to the commissioner the establishment of advisory committees or work groups as necessary to meet the pollution prevention goal.

V.

Actively disseminate useful pollution prevention information to local planning boards and zoning boards of adjustment.

VI.

Prepare a biennial report to the governor and council, the legislature and the committee on environment and agriculture on the department's efforts to integrate and promote pollution prevention concepts, the fiscal aspects of such efforts, and specific cases of successful and unsuccessful pollution prevention resulting from the implementation of this subdivision.
