214:23-a Certificate of Completion Required. –

I.

No hunting license shall be issued to or be purchased by any resident or nonresident person unless the applicant presents to the person authorized to issue such license either:

(a)

A certificate of completion from a basic hunter education program as provided under this subdivision;

Copy link
(b)

Satisfactory proof that the applicant has successfully completed a basic hunter education program in this state, or any other state, province, or country which is equivalent to the program provided for by this chapter; or

(c)

Satisfactory proof that the applicant has previously had a hunting license or equivalent, as determined by the executive director, issued to the applicant in this state, or any other state, province, or country.

II.

Notwithstanding any law to the contrary, no archery license shall be issued to or purchased by any resident or nonresident person unless the applicant presents to the person authorized to issue such license either:

A certificate of completion from a specialized bow hunter education program as provided under this subdivision.

(b)

Satisfactory proof that the applicant has completed a specialized bow hunter education program in this state or any other state, province, or country which is equivalent to the program provided for by this subdivision.

Satisfactory proof that the applicant has previously had an archery license or equivalent, as determined by the executive director, issued to the applicant in this state or any other state, province, or country.

III.

An archery license shall not constitute satisfactory proof of a previous hunting license and a hunting license shall not constitute satisfactory proof of a previous archery license to fulfill the requirements of this subdivision.

IV.

The executive director may suspend a person's certificate of completion of basic hunter education program or specialized bow hunter education program in accordance with rules adopted by the executive director pursuant to RSA 541-A.
