266:61 Distress Signals for Persons With Disabilities. –

I.

The director shall make available, at no cost to the state, and shall design and approve, a flag or other suitable distress signal to be used by persons with disabilities, or by drivers holding walking disability identification cards. The distress signal may be displayed in an emergency only. It shall be displayed from the driver's left front window.

II.

Any natural person who is not a person with a disability or who does not hold a walking disability identification card or any other person who uses the flag mentioned above as a distress signal or for any other purpose or who violates any provisions of this section shall be guilty of a violation.
