RSA 326-E:3 · Requirements for Initial Licensure
326-E:3 Requirements for Initial Licensure. – I. An applicant for an initial license to practice respiratory care shall be of good professional character and shall: (a) Be a graduate of a respiratory care educational program as defined in RSA 326-E:1, XI; or (b) Have successfully completed and achieved a passing score for the entry level exam administered in English by the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. prior to July 31, 1977. II. An applicant for initial licensure shall also be required to pass a standardized national examination administered in English by the National Board for Respiratory Care, Inc. or by a successor organization approved in rules adopted by the executive director, in consultation with the advisory board, pursuant to RSA 541-A. III. An applicant for initial licensure shall be required to certify under oath that the applicant is not under investigation by any professional licensing board and that the applicant's credentials have not been suspended or revoked by any professional licensing board. IV. An applicant for initial licensure who has not practiced as a respiratory care practitioner for at least 500 hours per year during the 4 years prior to filing the application shall be required to successfully complete continuing education and continuing competency requirements set forth in rules adopted by the executive director, in consultation with the advisory board, pursuant to RSA 541-A.
