RSA 427:38 · Definitions

427:38 Definitions. – As used in this subdivision:

I.

"Commissioner" shall mean the commissioner of agriculture, markets, and food.

"Livestock dealer" shall mean any person, partnership, unincorporated association, or corporation engaged in the business of buying, selling or transporting livestock, excluding any common carrier, or operating a livestock auction or sales ring, including any person acting as an agent or buyer for any other person, partnership, unincorporated association or corporation.

III.

"Livestock" shall include beef and dairy cattle, steer, oxen, goats, sheep, swine, horses, mules, or other equidae, as well as domesticated strains of buffalo, bison, llamas, alpacas, emus, ostriches, poultry, rabbits, yaks, elk (Cervus canadensis), fallow deer (Dama dama), red deer (Cervus elephus), and reindeer (Rangifer tarandus).
